Bio

It’s my goal to provide a safe, affirming and confidential space in which you might feel comfortable and open to share challenges or concerns that cause discomfort or suffering. With individuals, couples and groups, I work with compassion, empathy and caring to support you to make sense of, and become friendlier toward, your emotional experience. We will collaborate to consider personal, social and cultural realities that have an impact. I have a special interest in working with people who have complex identities and grapple with anxiety, depression, adjustment issues and/or dysfunctional families. When appropriate, evidence-based mindfulness practices bolster and support our work. I have publications in the areas of intersubjectivity (psychoanalytic) theory, racial and other subordinated identities, and achievement behavior among college students.
