As a psychologist at CPS, I am a part of the Emotion Management Team. Some of my professional interests include family and relationships, multiculturalism, anxiety, depression, and trauma-related disorders. I have found that many difficulties that people face are often rooted in life circumstances or the aftermath of being harmed in some way. Combined with other factors, people often find it difficult to adapt to change, feel connected to others, feel good about themselves, or be able to plan for the future. Stigma that exists about emotional health concerns can make it difficult to ask for help. I am proud to be part of an effort to maintain safe spaces where students are treated with dignity and respect as they access tools to improve their lives, families, and communities.
