The Exclusive Provider Network (EPN) for Princeton University students and their dependents enrolled in the Student Health Plan (SHP) connects students to more mental health services in the local community.  Visit princeton.thrivingcampus.com to browse and filter providers based on your needs and preferences.  EPN providers will list the Princeton University Student Health Plan as the insurance they accept.

When using this exclusive list of providers for mental/behavioral health services (NetID and password required to view), you:

• do not need a referral from a UHS clinician;
• will pay only a $10 copay per visit;
• do not have to submit claim forms; and
• you do not have to pay a deductible.

Preparing for your appointment

Make sure to have your insurance ID card in your possession for identification of your SHP benefits at the time of your appointment as well as a form of payment for your $10 copay (credit card, cash or check).  Since Aetna no longer mails plastic ID cards, you will need to print out a temporary ID card at www.aetnastudenthealth.com/princeton or download an electronic ID card to your mobile phone. You may also call Aetna at 1-877-437-6511 for assistance. 

Continuing current care with a provider

The SHP will continue to maintain the Aetna Student Health mental health coverage (outside of the EPN), so if you are currently being treated by another mental health professional and want to continue with your services, you can still do that subject to the provisions outlined in the plan documents for Aetna Preferred Care Providers and Non-Preferred Care Providers.
